| Planning a church wedding? |
 |
For couples planning to tie the knot in a Church of England, the new 2013 price increase needs to be taken in to consideration when budgeting for the big day.
The General Synod, this week have agreed to increase wedding ceremony fees from £269 to £415 in an attempt to standardise cost across the country's 16,000 churches. The price does include lighting and administration fees, however, heating and additional costs such as use of the choir, are not included - remember to budget for these too!

Embellishment and luxe fabrics are at the heart of the Matthew Williamson 2012 Bridal Collection.
With desirable long gown lengths and high hemlines there is a style to suit any bride. The new collection begins with the romance of the rose tulle gown and also the mini version. Both feature hand-crafted and hand-painted roses gently trailing over the shoulder, on a bed of gathered silk tulle, scattered with soft pearlescent beads and Swarovski crystals.
Embellishment and texture are rich on the ruched chiffon pieces and the quintessentially classic English wedding is seen in the influence of iridescent lacquer lace gowns and shift dress.
From empire necklines full of intricate beadwork and embroidery to the loose easy fit of the kimono, we love the whole collection and we are sure brides-to-be will too.

With 2012 being a leap year, its deemed acceptable for the woman to propose to her other half on the 29th February. And if you're tempted to break from tradition and pop the question, here are some things to consider...
1. Get the setting right - find a truly romantic location which is meaningful to your relationship.
2. Choose the right moment - unless you love being the centre of attention, wait until there is no one else around!
3. Have the ring ready - there is no more recognisable gesture than getting down on one knee and pulling out a jewellery box.
If you're still on the hunt for the perfect band, take a look at Bay Rings for some inspiration. There are a range of rings available and you could even go bespoke and design your own. Then there's just one last thing to find out...will he say 'yes'? For more information about Bay Rings, visit www.bayrings.co.uk.

The longest-married British-born couple, Lionel and Ellen Buxton are celebrating their love for each other by going on Twitter to mark Valentine's Day, 2012.
The couple tied the knot in 1936 and will answer questions on the social networking site about their secrets to matrimonial success. The idea comes from BBC Dragons' Den star Hilary Devey who invested in web-based DIY video company, Shoot It Yourself, with the founders, Andrea and Becs co-ordinating the initiative and moderating the questions from the general public.
Lionel, aged 99, claims that he's Ellen's toy-boy as she is six months his senior. The couple have a daughter, Cindy, and four grandchildren and they've never spent more than a night apart in the last eight decades.
To ask for some advice about the secrets of a long and happy marriage, you can now follow the couple and tweet your questions @lionelandellen.
